This was just another piece that was able to pull the space together incorporating the fun color they love, modern design and mixing metals.
The Lexington Furniture double-door bar’s design makes it easy to open and close when needed and features a bright teal color interior, which we were able to play off the artwork in the living room and entryway. The final statement piece in this space was the bar. They wanted variety and for each to be small.” We listened, making each sitting space it’s own “station.” To finish, we added some sleek recliners in a classic herringbone fabric and a small bench for their grandchildren to enjoy the space as well. Our client had one specific request for the remaining pieces of furniture… “They didn’t want it to be matchy-matchy.” Margy recalls. Inspired by real Indian street food, Naan Toasties are our answer to grilled cheesebut with authentic Indian flavors and ingredients, gooey, melted cheese, and crispy Naan bread. We were also able to marry these 2 design elements together in the mantle, adding coordinating shelves on each side for balance and a circular wooden mirror in the middle. This client also wanted a little bit of whimsy, with a pop of contemporary style, so we added in decor pieces like the circular lamp, modern circular sculptures, palm leaves and a mix of metals to marry the two designs together. “The Cheryl Ottoman was a little bit tricky because of the pattern, but it ended up working really well.” Margy said. Tactfully AccessorizingĪs we started to add furniture and decor to the space, we knew it had to be done carefully for all the colors to remain tasteful. We added brightly orange patterned accent pillows next to a cozy, neutral colored couch by CR Laine and hung some colorful wall art - you can see how it just pulls all the color into the space. They loved it, and wanted to try to work it into the space however possible.
The first thing these clients mentioned was the color orange. “When I started this project, the only thing the clients wanted to keep was the existing area rug.” Margy said “It can be challenging when a client is attached to a certain piece, but I was up to the test.” And, we think we’ve done a pretty great job of creating a team of designers that love to create dream spaces for our clients… our Margy is no exception!
